About The Position

The Facility Supervisor supports the day-to-day operations of the facility and serves as a key leadership figure in ensuring smooth execution of programs, customer service, staff coordination, and facility needs. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Facility Supervisor acts as a liaison between front-line staff and management and helps deliver exceptional customer experience while upholding safety and operational standards. Position is nights and weekends.

  • Proven experience in the management of recreational facilities, preferably ice arenas
  • Comfortable use of computers, phones, and office equipment
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm in busy or challenging situations
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or experience in ice sports (hockey, figure skating) is a plus
  • Previous experience as a competitive ice hockey player is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the ice arena, including public skating, hockey, figure skating programs, and rentals
  • Assist with the coordination of scheduling of ice time and communicate effectively with coaches, league organizers, and staff
  • Monitor ice resurfacing schedules and communicate with operation staff to ensure ice quality
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating part-time and seasonal staff (e.g., front desk, skate guards, instructors)
  • Schedule and supervise staff to ensure adequate coverage and performance across all shifts
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and support to uphold customer service and operational standards
  • Assist with payroll tracking
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Support marketing and execution of special events, tournaments, and seasonal programs
  • Help maintain relationships with local skating and hockey organizations, schools, and community partners
  • Monitor cash handling procedures, including daily register reconciliation and POS oversight
  • Assist with inventory control for concessions, skate rental, and/or pro shop
  • Contribute to budgeting, planning, and goal setting with senior management
