About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking for an experienced Industrial Security professional to assume the role of Facility Security Officer (FSO) at it's Sterling, VA location. The FSO will be responsible for oversight and implementation of the Industrial Security Program and enforcing security policies and procedures in accordance with the Department of War (DoW) and other government agency directives. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently, communicate effectively to all levels of internal and external customers and use good judgement while implementing policies and procedures to maintain compliance with 32 CFR Part 117. This is an onsite position in Sterling; VA & a Top Secret Clearance is required

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and able to multi-task while handling competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Completion of CDSE FSO Program management for Possessing Facilities course or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Facility Security Office (FSO).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily security operations and DoW compliance for a secure facility.
  • Maintain classified material accountability records to include inventory lists, receipt and transmittal records, and final disposition documentation.
  • Conduct internal self-inspections in preparation for security compliance reviews/audits.
  • Preparation and maintenance of prime and subcontractor DD Form 254.
  • Investigation and documentation of security violations/incidents and providing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Administer an inventory and document control program to account for Communication Security (COMSEC) equipment and material.
  • Administer security briefings, debriefings, and any additional required briefings.
  • Apply mitigation policies and procedures to minimize incidents.
  • Maintain data compliance in DISS, NBIS, and SIMS.
