About The Position

BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. Together, we guide families on their journey back to independence and into permanent housing.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work and LMSW license.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years supervisory and contract management experience
  • Experience working with governmental agencies
  • Extensive experience working with multi-problem families
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong crisis management skills.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and ability torepresentthe agency at functions and meetings
  • Demonstratedleadership and teambuilding skills
  • Ability to collect and analyze client demographics and outcome data
  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
  • ‘TB Test required with the first 120 days of employment’

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the facility is maintained, sanitary, and compliant with city, state, and funder regulations.
  • Supervise operations staff and oversight for24 hour security, fire safety, crisis intervention, and communications.
  • Manage on-site human recourses functions, including staff hiring, evaluation, supervision, training, and termination
  • Plan, develop and implement program policy for the facility
  • Participate in fundraising activities and lead or coordinate proposal writing.
  • Develop and implement new program components as needed.
  • Manage the collection and presentation of clients, administrative, and program data.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget
  • Represent agency at interagency meetings
  • Perform additional duties assigned by VP of family shelters.
