We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated RN to join our team. Join our team and refine your ability to assess and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Many of our individuals are nonverbal or have limited communication, requiring nurses to develop keen observational skills and collaborate closely with caregivers and interdisciplinary teams. As a nurse with RHA will have an opportunity to practice holistic nursing and to positively impact the lives of others by providing healthcare oversight and monitoring for the people we serve.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program
• Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
• Must be able to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks
• Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
• Physical requirements include: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level.
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
• Must be able to communicate.
• Complete criminal background
• Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required)
• Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs or the people we support
• Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel
• Teach the people we serve to monitor their health and provide medication administration training to the people we serve when appropriate
• Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration
• Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled
• Conduct medication closest assessments
• Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned
• Collect health related data
• Conduct nursing assessments
• Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
• Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported
