The Facility/Project Manager and Robotics Engineering and Laboratory/Project Manager position at Santa Clara University involves overseeing laboratory management, software development for embedded systems, and contributing to research activities in robotics.   • Assist the RSL Director with lab/facility management duties including management of laboratory spaces, equipment, training, and safety protocols.
  • Design, implement, and maintain software for embedded devices and systems from requirements to integration and test.
  • Perform design, analysis, and verification testing of embedded software for robotic system platforms.
  • Develop pilot/operator/supervisory control systems and software for remote robotic systems.
  • Contribute to RSL research activities in areas such as multirobot control and advanced robotic system design.
  • Prepare and perform software solution installation and integration.
  • Participate in test and integration of robot subsystems including software-based hardware tests.
  • Complete documentation and procedures for integration and maintenance of software/firmware.
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to generate system requirements and verification tests.
  • Participate in generating monthly/annual reports for customers.
  • Brief lab and university personnel on deliverables, status, and progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Master's Degree in engineering or a related field required.
  • 5 years of experience in developing/analyzing mechatronic and robotic systems and technologies with an emphasis on software and embedded systems development required.
  • Knowledge of undergraduate-level engineering topics relating to embedded systems, software engineering, and robotic analysis and control.
  • Strong experience with embedded software development using C and/or C++.
  • Experience with microcontrollers including PIC and ARM and communication protocols such as RS232, I2C, CAN, SPI, TCP/IP.
  • Experience programming for Linux platforms, real-time Linux is a plus.

  • Competitive hourly pay range of $33.46 - $39.95 based on experience.
