About The Position

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist the Assistant Manager in implementing quality control measures, planning, assigning and monitoring the work performed by Facility Services personnel to ensure compliance with established work order procedures and set-up, dock maintenance and housekeeping requirements. Prioritize and assign work orders. Plan and anticipate resources needed to execute assignments accurately and by established deadlines. Conduct physical walk through to ensure the quality of work performed. Conduct regular meetings with subordinate personnel concerning safety, operational and emergency procedures, event information, special projects and work standards to ensure the smooth operation of the division. Maintain inventory control of tools, supplies, equipment, and materials in order to maintain costs. Determine inventory levels needed to efficiently and effectively accomplish work. Monitor and maintain appropriate records and controls relative to division equipment, materials, tools, and supplies in accordance with MCCNO guidelines. Perform administrative duties as required in accordance with organizational guidelines. Monitor time for assigned personnel and temporary labor. Allocate hours to events in order for the Financial Operations Department to track event costs. Assist in establishing housekeeping, set-up, and dock maintenance programs as required to maintain the facility in world-class condition and provide all services in accordance with established guidelines, standards, and procedures of – Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR Facility. Participate in facility safety/recycling initiatives and committees as needed. Interface all facility services in harmony with other internal functional departments as required minimizing downtime and maximizing effectiveness. Assist external vendors and contractors in accordance with guidelines established by the MCCNO to ensure successful events. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of occupational safety standards, cleaning methods, use of material and equipment, and set-up principles to ensure successful events. ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR SUPERVISION Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay, and discipline of assigned personnel. Orient employees to MCCNO policies and procedures, clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities so individuals may proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions. Personally conduct or oversee training for new employees to ensure established procedures are clearly understood and followed. Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis, conduct effective performance appraisals, and take corrective action whenever necessary. Create a working climate in which assigned personnel are motivated to develop their skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance. Administer MCCNO policies in a fair and equitable manner with regard to discipline, tardiness, absenteeism or insubordination and fully document all incidents and actions taken.

Requirements

  • Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, perform under minimal supervision and work extended/irregular hours as necessary.
  • Interact with other departments to discuss, implement and review MCCNO policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high emphasis on customer service and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to operate heavy mechanical equipment.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of occupational safety standards, cleaning methods, use of material and equipment, and set-up principles to ensure successful events.
