About The Position

The Facility Systems Engineer provides technical and engineering support for facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and overall building infrastructure. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facility systems by monitoring performance, coordinating maintenance and upgrades, and conducting inspections. The Facility Systems Engineer works closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and facility management to optimize building performance and support operational continuity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities/Building Engineering) or equivalent experience in facility systems management.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure components.
  • Experience in maintenance management, preventive maintenance programs, and building system troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with maintenance teams, contractors, and management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with facility management software and reporting tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and other infrastructure components.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of facility systems to identify potential issues, inefficiencies, or safety hazards.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution by maintenance personnel.
  • Coordinate repair, replacement, and upgrade projects for facility systems, collaborating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Analyze system performance data and provide recommendations for optimization, energy efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Assist in planning and implementing facility improvements, renovations, or new installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support emergency response for facility system failures or operational disruptions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance staff and other facility personnel.
  • Stay current on advances in building technologies, engineering practices, and facility management standards.
