The primary purpose of this job is to direct the facility improvements and projects in an efficient manner, evaluate and implement efficient operational improvements, supervise Facility Technicians and Housekeeping team members, and maintain the building, grounds, and equipment and to see that all areas of the building meet regulatory requirements, are clean, operational and orderly.

Requirements

  • Must be available on-call for emergencies as needed.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English language and delegate instructions to other associates, residents, and family members as needed.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other associates.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage vendors, capital projects, and multitask.
  • Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
  • Be knowledgeable of practices, procedures, and guidelines established by this community.
  • Ability to minimize waste of supplies and misuse of equipment, etc.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs.
  • Must adhere to dress code as per community policy.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the community.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • May be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment and supplies throughout the workday.
  • Work well in well-lighted/ventilated areas.
  • Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving intermittently during working hours.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions/circumstances.
  • Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
  • Works in all areas of the community.
  • May be subject to reactions from dust, housekeeping and disinfecting solutions, falls, burns from equipment, hazardous substances, and odors.
  • Must be medically cleared to wear an N95 mask as needed for special projects.
