About The Position
The Facility Operations Assistant 1 position at the Department of Environmental Conservation involves general fish care, including feeding fish, cleaning rearing units, moving fish, sampling fish, and assisting in loading trucks. The role may also include some stocking of fish to local waters. Additionally, the assistant will help with the annual brown trout egg take occurring in late summer to early fall. Responsibilities extend to maintaining the grounds, which includes string trimming, lawn mowing, and other maintenance tasks. General maintenance around the facility is also required, such as assisting in dam board construction, concrete pond repair, and painting or power washing to optimize facility appearance and operation.
