About The Position

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Facility Modeling & Analysis Engineer, supporting TOS II, at AEDC in Arnold AFB, TN. The engineer will be working as a member of the Engineering Solutions branch responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The Engineering Solutions branch performs cutting edge technology development work in support of the National Defense Strategy. Open to internal and external candidates.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related scientific discipline from an accredited university.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network
  • Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in ME, AE, or EE with 3 years’ experience doing computational development and analysis.
  • Education in fundamental engineering and science, and advanced knowledge of mathematics, algorithms and computer languages.
  • Familiarity with one or more AEDC facilities
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink product suite
  • Experience with PLC-based control systems
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of developing computational engineering methods and application of modeling & simulation tools to engineering problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with employees, clients, and customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of technology development tasks for Facility Modeling solutions, including development of Matlab/Simulink physics-based models of AEDC test facilities and test articles.
  • Support the development and application of other computational models and simulations to solve complex physical problems arising in engineering analysis and design (computational engineering).
  • Develop and maintain positive, open relationships with AEDC counterparts and with FM&A technology development customers.

  • Engage with colleagues as required to push for technological advances, facility improvements, advanced diagnostics, and complex problem solutions.
