About The Position
The Facility Manager at The Salvation Army's Freedom Center is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance operations of the facility. This role is critical to the preservation and maintenance of all assets, as well as the physical operations of the Corps Community Center, The Harbor Light Center, and Pathway Forward programs. The Facility Manager will ensure that the environment is clean, organized, and efficient, minimizing interruptions to the services provided by the center. In this position, the Facility Manager will supervise and coordinate the activities of personnel involved in the repair and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment. This includes administering work assignments for technicians, vendors, and contractors, as well as overseeing daily preventive maintenance for the Freedom Center's systems and equipment. The role requires a hands-on approach to operating, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic building systems, including air handling equipment, fire alarm systems, building automation systems, and more. The Facility Manager will conduct daily inspections of the property to ensure everything is functioning efficiently and will report any maintenance or safety issues to the Executive Director. They will follow a preventive maintenance schedule to maintain the 185,000 square feet of the facility in accordance with The Salvation Army's operational guidelines. Additionally, the Facility Manager will prepare for and participate in agency audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures related to financial monitoring controls and regulatory requirements. In the absence of the Executive Director, the Facility Manager will monitor and direct the scheduling of housekeeping and vendors, ensuring the efficient use of resources and adherence to company policies. This role also involves training, coaching, and motivating team members to meet and exceed daily expectations, contributing to the overall success of the facility's operations.
