The Facility Manager will oversee the operational and administrative functions of our facility, ensuring seamless operations. Aligning departmental objectives by being detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety compliance of our facility while aligning departmental objectives with overall goals of the CBC.

  • Evaluate facility operations and personnel to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements as well as safety and health regulations.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, both internally and externally sourced.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and distribution of supplies, optimizing resource allocation.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the husbandry, cage-wash and office teams.
  • Direct construction and renovation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Resolve issues for lab members and CBC staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards, oversee equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with PM contracts.
  • Prepare accurate reports and schedules, facilitating informed decision-making and operational planning.
  • Implement disaster planning, mitigating efforts and training initiatives to enhance organizational resilience.
  • Use Lean Management and Six Sigma principles to streamline operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Disaster Planning or a related field.
  • A proven experience in facility management, with a minimum of five (5) years prior experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safety regulations, building codes, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to read and understand complex scientific documents such as research protocols, regulations and policies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in budget management, procurement processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Prior experience with facility management software and tools.
  • AALAS LATG Certification required, and CMAR is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Lean Management Black Belt certification is highly desired.
