JOB SUMMARY: To repair, maintain, install building infrastructure to ensure building allows for the safe and efficient operation of the facility. To test, analyze, repair, maintain and install electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to ensure the continued operation of the facility as a support to the TECHNICIAN job title. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Demonstrated high level of proficiency in wiring, motor hook ups Working knowledge of conveyor assembly, chain and sprocket, belt and sheave repairs Perform P.M. (preventive maintenance) on all company equipment Maintain, read, and work from drawings, blueprints, schematics to assemble/troubleshoot or repair various machinery/equipment including building, building fixtures such as fire alarms sprinkler systems, security cameras and property grounds Perform electro-mechanic installations and repairs for solenoid air operated control valves, relayed controlled switchgear, solenoid controlled hydraulic valves, clutches, brakes and their related components Use of all tools and test equipment necessary for the maintenance and repair of all equipment in the facility including but not limited to meters, scopes, analyzers, standard mechanic tools, power tools, drill presses, micrometers, calipers, pipe cutters, threading tools, combination squares, drill bits, air powered ratchets, impact wrenches, presses, sheers, lathes, vertical mill, etc Responsible for making purchases for goods and services under the direction of the Technical Services Management Responsible for the accurate and legible completion of required paperwork (i.e: work orders, p.m., etc.) Maintain and repair water treatment and heating ventilation and air conditioning systems. (To include boiler and evaporative cooling tower) Knowledge and application of welding and machine shop skills Operate, test, repair, analyze and maintain the performance of material handling equipment, UPS/battery system, diesel generators, compressors, and batteries used in the facility Operation of all facility vehicles (i.e: RC trucks, forklifts, pallet riders, hostler, carts, turret trucks and maintenance lifts) Maintain and repair lighting fixtures (i.e: tubes, bulbs, ballasts, etc.) Use of construction skills, (i.e: building repair, concrete/cement, carpentry, plumbing, etc.) Extensive knowledge of electrical power, distribution and control methods, procedures and theory Demonstrated knowledge of micro computer and PC based control and monitoring systems Basic PC skills, Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc Strong working knowledge of operating systems, digital communications, programmable controller-based machinery control and audio systems Perform administrative functions as needed Review technical services contractors’ performances and provide appropriate information to Technical Services Management and contractors being reviewed as needed to improve performance and partnerships Meet with perspective contractors and suppliers to discuss services and opportunities to improve facility building and equipment performance under the direction of the Technical Services Management FACILITY TECHNICIAN MARGINAL RESPONDSIBILITIES: Perform other departmental job functions as needed to accommodate changing workload requirements COMPREHENSIVE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers verbally and in writing concerning contracted services including purchasing of goods and services as directed by the technical services manager Ability to meet the time driven demands of internal customers for facility services effectively while supporting the budget goals of the technical services department Verbal, written, and practical demonstration of skills testing will be used to evaluate job performance and pay scale placement Ability to provide, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions Operation of Fork equipment Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate good time management skills Strong analytical skills Proficient math skills; subtraction, addition, division, multiplication, fractions, geometry, algebra and statistics Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures Follow all general equipment and departmental safety rules Follow established ergonomic body mechanics Ability to work different shifts as needed to accommodate workload Ability to work with others in a cooperative team-like environment Ability to work at different levels of heights Ability to lift and move objects weighing approximately 60lbs. Mobility necessary to continually traverse stairs to different levels as needed FACILITY TECHNICIAN REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED certificate Associates degree in mechanical or electrical technology or five years related on the job experience TECHNICAL: Yearly Fork Truck certification Operation of (RF) handheld scanner and P.C. P.C. Skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Acceptable vision to perform job functions Must be able to lift and move 60 lbs Mobility necessary to work all levels of building Ability to stand 80%-100% of day if required by job function
