About the position
The City of Wentzville is seeking a dedicated and skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair city-owned buildings, facilities, and grounds. This part-time position involves a variety of tasks including cleaning, maintenance, and repair work, ensuring that facilities are safe and functional for public use.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Maintain landscaped areas, parking lots, and sidewalks, including mowing, weeding, trimming, and snow removal.
- Efficiently complete work orders and address repair issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with the inspection and monitoring of contracted custodial services to ensure quality standards are met.
- Set up and break down tables, chairs, and beverage stations for meetings and events.
- Collaborate with other Facilities staff on construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
- Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and ballasts.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience operating equipment such as lawn mower, trimmer, snow blower, snow plow, genie lift, extension ladder, power washer, and/or power hand tools for maintaining, repairing, mowing, and landscaping buildings, facilities, parking lots, and grounds.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Lift Truck Certification required within 180 days of employment.
- Working knowledge of building maintenance technology and general building safety.
- Basic knowledge in the use of general computer programs and applications, including email and mobile apps.
