This opening is for a 1st Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician at their manufacturing facility in Hagerstown, MD. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general and detailed maintenance on the facility and equipment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED or a combination of High School education with work experience.
Flexibility to work extended hours as coverage needs require, ability to work overtime.

Responsibilities

Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassembling equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Paint and Repair to help maintain facility.
Perform manufacturing area general cleaning duties.
Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hand tools, and power tools.
Communicate with Supervisors, peers, or subordinates: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person.
Utilize all tools available including email or electronic devices to keep up with work orders submitted within the facility.
Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.
Contact vendors to set up service calls for any needed maintenance in the facility.
Maintain list of equipment and asset tags, who they are assigned to and where they are located.
Learn all manual tasks performed within the department.
Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures.
