Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties. Qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion. Performs routine maintenance in accordance with schedules determined by supervisor. Acquires and maintains a full complement of personal tools as necessary to perform general repair and service work. Provides technical assistance to plant supervisory personnel as related to employee orientation and training and/or training activities. Immediately responds to every breakdown to ensure machinery is up and running. Must be proactive, detect minor problems and correct them before they become major problems. Locates areas in need of repair, determines necessary repairs and performs work as appropriate or reports problem to supervisor. Maintains clean work area. Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 5 years prior experience involving general plant maintenance work involving both electrical and mechanical systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend typical schematic drawings involving electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as necessary to troubleshoot, repair, and/or service the same. Can read and comprehend typical machine tool, equipment service, and trouble-shooting manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
