About The Position

About the Role: As a CBRE Facility Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient and safe operation of our healthcare facilities by performing a variety of maintenance tasks, with a strong emphasis on plumbing systems. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience and training under the guidance of experienced technicians, contributing to a well-maintained and compliant environment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance and repairs on a range of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve routine plumbing issues, such as unclogging drains, repairing leaks, and maintaining fixtures (e.g., sinks, toilets).
  • Assist with the installation, repair, and modification of various building equipment and systems.
  • Complete assigned work orders promptly and accurately, utilizing established tracking systems to document progress and resolution.
  • Conduct routine inspections of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate actively in an structured training program alongside experienced technicians to develop comprehensive maintenance skills and plumbing expertise.
  • Support energy management initiatives by ensuring building systems operate at optimal efficiency.
  • Inspect existing installations and maintenance work for adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and internal standards.
  • Assist with general maintenance duties, including the relocation of office furniture and equipment during reconfigurations.
  • Engage with clients and staff in a clear, concise, and professional manner, providing excellent customer service during maintenance activities.
  • Adhere strictly to defined procedures and processes, working under close supervision and guidance while developing independent problem-solving capabilities.
