About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of water district buildings and structures. This role includes performing tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and other general maintenance on TRWD buildings, structures, and grounds. The technician will also be responsible for transporting materials and equipment for maintenance projects, leading work crews, and ensuring the completion of assigned projects. Additional responsibilities include data entry for work orders, upholding safety standards, and participating in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response.

Requirements

• Four (4) years of facility maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to identify materials and labor necessary for an assigned task or project.
• Ability to lead others and be responsible for the start and finish of assigned projects.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
• Participation in a building trade apprenticeship or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and other general maintenance on TRWD buildings, structures, and grounds.
• Transport materials and equipment for maintenance projects.
• Lead work crews and identify materials and labor needed for assigned projects.
• Perform data entry for work orders and for timekeeping.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
• Interact and coordinate with other TRWD personnel.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response.
• Report maintenance or structural issues to department supervisor.
• Participate in applicable condition assessments.
• Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service.
• Identify training budget needs.
• Align performance reviews and job description reviews.
• Perform other duties as required.
