About The Position

Facility Maintenance Technician I is an entry-level role, responsible for supporting the upkeep, safety, and operational efficiency of facilities across the campus. This position performs routine preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and general support tasks under close supervision, ensuring all work areas remain clean, functional, and compliant with safety and policy standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safe work practices.
• Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks, such as minor plumbing repairs and drywall patching.
• Willingness to learn framing techniques and light construction skills.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, plumbing, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with general facility inspections and promptly reports maintenance concerns.
• Performs minor repairs, including touch-up painting, drywall patching, and basic plumbing.
• Conducts routine maintenance on safety-related fixtures, such as eyewash stations, and performs regular servicing, such as ice machines as part of general equipment upkeep.
• Provides support to the Grounds Maintenance team as required to meet operational needs.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of maintenance workspaces and supply areas.
• Learns and assists with basic framing and construction techniques, including wood and metal stud work.
• Adheres to safety protocols and immediately reports hazards to appropriate teams.
• Completes assigned work orders and tasks as directed by a supervisor, trainer, or unit specialist.
• Assists with set-up and take-down for company events.
• Complies with all OSHA, ISO, and DEQ requirements, as well as company safety policies.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts and contributes to a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
