About The Position

The position involves performing facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards. The role requires documenting maintenance activities through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical and electrical systems. The technician will also handle patient care equipment and perform general maintenance functions, including grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal. Emergency repairs and preventive maintenance are also key responsibilities, along with effective communication with building occupants regarding service requests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills including CMMS, building automation systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Document maintenance activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, and heat exchangers.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical systems including HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, and piped medical gas systems.
  • Perform routine to moderately complex general maintenance functions including grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
  • Respond to emergencies such as leaks, floods, and equipment failures as directed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
  • Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions.
  • Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.
