Under limited supervision, the General Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep, maintenance, and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment across multiple owned and leased locations. This role performs a wide range of routine maintenance tasks to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well maintained. Duties include basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC support, carpentry, safety inspections, and assistance with setups, moves, and minor repairs. POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: General Maintenance Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs as assigned Assist with tracking maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment service Help maintain maintenance records, manuals, and documentation Support conference room setups, events, and office reconfigurations Assist with furniture moves, office relocations, and general labor needs Participate in a rotating on call schedule to respond to after hours, weekend, or emergency maintenance issues as assigned Basic Electrical / Plumbing / HVAC Perform basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, filters, and fixtures Assist with minor plumbing and HVAC issues and coordinate service calls when needed Support scheduled preventive maintenance activities Respond to maintenance issues and assist during urgent repair situations Safety & Security Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance and safety concerns Report hazards, repair needs, or unsafe conditions to supervisors Assist with maintaining compliance with safety policies and building codes Support inspections of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and related systems Carpentry & General Repairs Perform basic carpentry tasks such as installing shelving, minor repairs, and patching Paint and repair walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed Assist with miscellaneous repair projects across facilities QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent EXPERIENCE: General maintenance or related experience preferred PERFORMANCE COMPETENCIES: Facilities Maintenance Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC Carpentry Essential Behaviors KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must be able to physically lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Ability to work with the public, ability to maintain an effective working relationship with agency employees, ability to maintain a professional manner at all times and ability to maintain confidentiality. Must carry cellular phone during working hours and after hours. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. Proof of automobile insurance required. Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use agency automobile to travel to locations other than primary office and/or for the transportation of clients. OTHER INFORMATION SAFETY SENSITIVE JOB CLASSIFICATION: This job is classified as a “safety-sensitive” position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Due to the “safety-sensitive” classification, an employee in this position would be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ON CALL REQUIREMENT: This position requires participation in a rotating on call schedule. Employees must be available to respond to emergency maintenance situations outside of normal business hours in accordance with departmental procedures.
