About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all Repair & Maintenance (R&M) activities across Devon Self Storage’s facilities, primarily managed through the Service Channel platform. This role ensures timely resolution of work orders, effective vendor management, and adherence to budgetary controls, while maintaining high standards for property condition, safety, and compliance. The position requires a strategic leader with strong technical ability—both in facilities management expertise and proficiency with platforms like Service Channel—as well as vendor negotiation skills and the ability to streamline processes across a multi-site portfolio. Additionally, the Facility Maintenance Manager will serve as a lead coordinator between the company’s field operations and construction teams, ensuring alignment on maintenance priorities, project execution, and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities management across multi-site operations.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role with direct people management responsibilities.
  • Experience with Service Channel or similar work order management software required.
  • Self-storage, retail, or property management industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, and vendor management.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of CMMS systems (Service Channel) required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of all work orders and R&M activities via Service Channel.
  • Leadership and development of the Facility Management team.
  • Vendor recruitment, selection, and management.
  • Achieve budget discipline and cost efficiency by controlling R&M expenses, aligning with financial targets, and negotiating strong vendor value.
  • Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Construction, and Asset Management.
