About The Position

The Facilities Manager is responsible for managing the care and maintenance of the building structures and grounds. Managing a team of internal and external resources to develop, implement and administer plans for upkeep of the land, yard equipment, supplies, repairs, renovation projects, and coordinates safety inspections with HSE. The Facilities Manager is also responsible for managing the financial budget for meeting these facility’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the maintenance and cleanliness of the marina facilities to include the office, building, docks, landscaping, and marina equipment
  • Establishes, implements and administers maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility schedules and design modifications
  • Ensures the facilities are fully operational with all utilities functioning properly
  • Manages the budgeting, scheduling and supervision of internal and external resources completing facilities maintenance day-to-day and project based
  • Manages facilities maintenance employees through effective recruiting, clear performance goals and accountability as to what and how such goals are met
  • Establishes and maintains key external vendor relationships and contracts including scope of work, fee quotes and tenders, and quality and timeliness of services and supplies deliveries
  • Establishes and maintains key internal partnerships to best coordinate facilities maintenance with the operations of the business’s services to deliver revenues and manage costs
  • Manages the coordination and implementation of EHS protocols throughout facilities ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment
  • Fiscally manages the budget to actual financial needs of the facilities maintenance functions, including executing fair and reasonable vendor contracts by accurately and timely processing and reviewing work order requests and timely resolving any related issues
  • Participates in the emergency preparedness planning team
  • Applies, or assists with the application, for required environmental permits
  • Plan and organize department goals by developing plan of action, and managing labor utilization
  • Prioritize open communication and pass information quickly and effectively to ensure all employees have the necessary information
  • The ability to plan effectively toward a long-term goal and make necessary adjustments based on changing variables
  • The ability to share job knowledge by coaching, mentoring, and finding learning opportunities within the company or outside career development education
  • Meeting customers' and employees' needs by generating new ideas to improve company processes and procedures continually
  • Following company, industry and best practices regarding safety standards (safe equipment usage, personal protective equipment, reporting)
