About The Position

The Facility Maintainer II position at Drake University is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning activities to maintain the university's physical environment in an orderly, sanitary, safe, and attractive condition. Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Facility Maintainer III.
• Past record of acceptable attendance and dependability.
• Ability to read and communicate in writing using the English language.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet the department work schedule.
• Capable of self-initiation of required duties.
• Ability to evaluate project needs independently.
• Ability to train new employees.
• Valid Iowa Driver's License with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning activities including vacuuming, dust mopping, and mopping offices, classrooms, stairwells, student rooms, restrooms, and hallways.
• Clean and disinfect areas using germicidal cleaning solutions, including washing furnishings, tile, fixtures, and equipment.
• Polish sinks, tubs, drinking fountains, toilets, mirrors, and similar apparatus.
• Spot wash walls, light switches, and telephones; wash or clean windows and door glass.
• Maintain cleanliness by keeping all debris in the area picked up.
• Recognize and report problems to Facility Maintainer I or Custodial Supervisor.
• Maintain supply inventory for designated areas and prepare supply requests and usage reports.
