About The Position

The Facility Lead oversees all housekeeping, event setup, and related facility operations at the Kroc Center, under the direction of the Facility Manager. The role supervises custodial and building services staff, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for all guests and employees. Responsibilities include daily housekeeping management, staff scheduling and training, event setup and teardown, minor maintenance tasks, and outdoor upkeep. The Facility Lead works 25 hours per week and requires the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays and will be part of a weekend opening rotation. The pay rate is $18-$20/hour. The position includes paid time off with 10 days of vacation per year, 12 sick days per year (4 of which can be taken like vacation days), 12 paid holidays, 2 personal days, and the ability to earn an additional 2 days of PTO through our wellness program. SUMMARY/PRIMARY DUTIES:  This position will oversee all housekeeping, event set-up activities, and other related operations at the Kroc Center as directed by the Facility Manager. This position will give oversight to the custodial/housekeeping/building services worker staff of the Kroc .

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years custodial experience
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • First Aid, CPR and AED Certification and Naloxone Administration.
  • Applicant must posses a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army’s insurance carrier.
  • Knowledge and use of all proper personal equipment, including wearing of protective gloves, safety glasses, and lifting belts, lock out tag out equipment.
  • Computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and internet. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow the instructions/requirements on Work Orders regarding facility maintenance and/or events.
  • Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ability to address multiple projects in a timely manner while being responsive and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers, officers, and the public in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • Ability to work in a team setting with other professionals.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Exercise good judgment in personal actions, personnel management, and business matters.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all housekeeping activities in the facility to ensure a clean, healthy environment for employees and guests.
  • Monitors the work performance of custodial and building services staff; collaborates with the Facility Manager to schedule these team members, and establishes daily operational routines that include custodial services, trash removal, grounds beautification, upkeep and repairs.
  • Assist in the training and development of custodial and building services worker staff.
  • Reports all potential mechanical or electrical problems and unsafe conditions to the Facility Manager and assists in the implementation of the Health & Safety Manual and Emergency Action Plan.
  • Oversees and participates in the required set-up, tear-down, and change-over procedures for events to include tables, chairs, staging, barricades, pipe and drape, signage, and all other related equipment.
  • Assists in the care, maintenance, and repair of assets related to hosting programs and events.
  • Assist with light maintenance tasks. Areas of responsibility may include painting, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
  • Performs outdoor maintenance tasks including snow and ice removal, and assists with the overall maintenance of grounds and pavilion.
