About The Position

The Facility Handyman will be responsible for maintaining various OTC Services' establishments, inspecting equipment, and addressing basic maintenance needs. This role requires a professional, prompt, and courteous interaction with staff members, supervisors, clients, and contractors while providing maintenance services. The handyman will maximize and maintain the interior and exterior appearance and condition of all assigned facilities, including Residential Group Homes and Day Program Centers. Responsibilities include managing an organized electronic ticket tracking system for maintenance requests, prioritizing urgent items, and performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Experience with industrial lawn and snow equipment.
  • Ability to disassemble machines and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to read blueprints and repair manuals.
  • Proficient in using common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for deficiencies.
  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working independently.
  • Strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, prompt, and courteous customer service.
  • Maintain the interior and exterior appearance and condition of all assigned facilities.
  • Organize and manage an electronic ticket tracking system for maintenance requests.
  • Perform floor repairs including cleaning, polishing, and buffing surfaces.
  • Conduct plumbing upkeep by repairing, replacing, and installing various plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform electrical work including fixing and replacing power switches and lighting.
  • Repair drywall by filling and patching holes and installing backboard.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
  • Repair and install household appliances.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including after-hours work as necessary.
  • Maintain grounds keeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and snow removal.
  • Participate as an active member of the Safety Committee.
  • Cooperate with inspections and investigations by relevant authorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits
