The position involves coordinating all aspects of facility goals and objectives in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). The individual will work closely with appropriate personnel to respond to customer material compliance requests and ensure the Division's ongoing compliance with regulations. The role requires direct responsibility for the successful implementation of EHS programs and procedures, reporting to the General Manager, Operations Manager, or Manufacturing Manager depending on the division size and structure.

  • Develop and support programs and procedures to meet facility objectives and targets in EHS.
  • Focus on accident prevention, EHS regulatory compliance, energy management and use reduction, waste minimization, and management systems.
  • Support the research and interpretation of material compliance regulations.
  • Stay up to date with new regulations and regulation updates/amendments.
  • Coordinate all EHS training.
  • Manage corrective actions from Corporate EHS audits.
  • Act as onsite contact for Corporate EHS Department and manage EPA actions.
  • Manage OSHA actions including inspections and letters of noncompliance.
  • Direct all applicable EHS reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain necessary EHS records.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate EHS Policy and Directives.
  • Chair ISO 14000 and 18000 Committees if applicable.
  • Support customer EHS requirements.
  • Report directly to division management on EHS matters.
  • Train new facility EHS Coordinators.
  • Attend biannual EHS Conference or annual Country council meetings.
  • Direct the division's waste management (recycling) program.
  • Support and integrate EHS into Lean, HR, and Supply Chain efforts.
  • Perform compliance verification actions including reviewing material specifications and contacting suppliers for compliance data.
  • BS Degree in a technical field, preferably EHS.
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.
  • Experience in Ergonomics and Behavior Based Safety is a plus.
  • 3+ years of applicable experience.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Creative ability in ensuring safety of employees and the environment while meeting production needs.
  • Ability to plan and implement EHS programs.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with management and associates from the floor.
  • Must be able to travel and work out of the office.
