About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Facility CDI Specialist for a remote work position, requiring residency in Kentucky or Indiana. The Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist is responsible for evaluating physician documentation using clinical expertise to accurately portray the patient's severity of illness in the medical record, ensuring specificity and accuracy of diagnosis and procedure coding. This role also involves providing guidance to providers, nursing, and ancillary staff on best practices for clinical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Valid Kentucky or Indiana Licensure as a Registered Nurse
- In lieu of bachelor’s degree, Associate degree in Nursing with five years acute healthcare nursing
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist and/or Certified Documentation Integrity Specialist
Responsibilities
- Evaluation of physician documentation utilizing clinical expertise to ensure the patients’ severity of illness is accurately portrayed in the medical record for specificity and accuracy of diagnosis and procedure coding
- Provides guidance to the providers, nursing, and ancillary staff on clinical documentation best practices
