About The Position
The Facility Assistant at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the building and its grounds. This part-time position is designed for individuals who are semi-skilled and enjoy working directly with the public, staff, and event hosts. The Facility Assistant is responsible for supporting special event hosts during rental periods, ensuring that the facility is used properly according to rental agreements and policies. This role requires flexibility, as the schedule is based on rentals and maintenance needs, and may include evenings, weekends, and occasional late nights. In this position, the Facility Assistant will perform a variety of tasks, including cleaning the facility using various soaps, chemicals, and machines, as well as light repair and maintenance work. The role also involves setting up and striking tables and chairs for rental clients and internal events, ensuring the proper operation of equipment such as dishwashers during events, and acting as the initial contact for any issues that arise during rentals. The Facility Assistant must maintain a clean personal appearance and exhibit a positive demeanor when interacting with the public and clients. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs unaided and to work with limited supervision. The Facility Assistant must be in good physical condition to perform the duties required of the position, which may include following checklists for scheduled duties and communicating any safety issues or areas needing repair to the Building Manager. This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, have a strong work ethic, and are willing to work a flexible schedule.
