About The Position

The Facility Administrator will have advanced management skills with an emphasis on the administration and delivery of inpatient mental health treatment services, and the rules, regulations, and statutory requirements surrounding the provision of these services. This is a high profile and degree Director-level position that will require the daily supervision of staff and operations at the adult/children crisis stabilization unit in Bartow, as well as supervision of affiliated program staff and processes. Candidates for this position should expect a fast-paced environment, be able to organize work priorities, provide accountability and supervision, be responsive to program staff, have an excellent knowledge and understating of the psychopathology of both adults and children, conduct overall compliance activities (Joint Commission, Medicaid, Managed Care Contracts, DCF, and Statutory/Baker Act Standards), and ensure a high quality of care for the very diverse inpatient population. A passion for community mental health is required. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree with advanced certification or license, such as RN, LCSW, LMHC, etc. preferred, Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years in the mental health field.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Attend all PRC clinical and administrative functions as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
  • Complete all PRC-required pieces of training.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Basic understanding of the concepts of integrated health care.
  • Ability to assist in the continuous development of an electronic health record.
  • Capability to supervise assigned personnel in a fair and consistent manner.
  • General knowledge and understanding of the psychopathology of both adults and children as it relates to the DSM diagnostic manual.
  • Ability to make well-reasoned and ethical decisions regarding the assessment, care, and treatment of individuals receiving services.
  • Sound judgment/problem-solving skills to deal with day-to-day complexities.
  • Ability to communicate, manage, and/or coordinate multi-agency cooperation/inter-actions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to participate in on-call and backfill staffing when necessary.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize conflicting demands.
  • Possess or have the ability to quickly master computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible and responsive to feedback.

  • As an employee of Peace River Center, if you are not assigned a company-issued phone, you will be required to authorize the use of the Microsoft Authenticator app on your personal mobile device. This is necessary to access our payroll and communication system, Paycor, and Microsoft email as examples. This will ensure secure and efficient communication with the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision of inpatient services staff and direct inpatient operations to achieve internal and external financial and performance results.

  • Assists staff with the implementation of departmental goals, policies, procedures, and reporting tools through effective use of performance metrics and financial results.
  • Provides for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence and supports an open-door policy among all staff.
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains operating policies consistent with the agency's overall policies and objectives and ensures their adequate execution.
  • Conduct overall compliance activities (Joint Commission, Medicaid, Baker Act, contracts).
  • Conduct record/peer reviews and performance improvement functions.
  • Provide direct inpatient services as needed.
  • Supervise staff and provide accountability in a fair and consistent manner. This includes planning to work one-off shift every pay period to have a presence with night or weekend staff.
  • Ensures excellent working relations and coordination of care with hospitals, law enforcement, jails, and other referral sources.
  • Ability to effectively build program and staff capacity and to develop a highly effective and dedicated workforce.
  • Supervise the scheduling of staff to ensure coverage of 24/7 facilities.
  • Ensure program-wide compliance with all Direct Reports’ performance plans with special skill in monitoring, implementing change processes, and follow through.
  • Act in concern with the other agency Facility Administrators to provide backup, shift coverage, and leadership that is uniform between facilities.
  • Prioritize work functions.
  • Assist in application and compliance with grants for the provision/enhancement of services as needed.
  • Quarterly face-to-face meetings with all direct reports to review job performance.
  • Partnering with Human Resources in the timely handling of Employee Relations issues.
  • Collaborate with Direct Reports to assist in goal setting and provide ongoing leadership mentoring to employees.
  • Regular meetings with Inpatient Leadership staff to review facility issues and needs and provide supervision.
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.
