About The Position

The Facilities and Operations Coordinator at Brown University plays a crucial role in maintaining the physical and operational conditions of the Residential Facilities, which encompass 46 residence halls and 1.9 million square feet of living space. This position involves managing facility conditions, conducting inspections, overseeing service orders for repairs, and communicating with students regarding ongoing issues. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for managing key control systems, tracking lock changes, adjudicating damage charges, and supervising student personnel to support operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of related experience in facilities or operations management, office management, or similar operations capacity.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills, particularly in defusing tense situations.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse groups.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage facility conditions in residence halls and conduct regular visual inspections.
• Initiate and follow up on service orders for facility repairs and laundry machines.

• Adjudicate student damage charges and communicate department policies related to residential facilities.
• Recruit, train, and supervise student personnel to support operations.
