About The Position

MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication, and Industrial and Defense applications. In addition, MACOM offers foundry services that represents a key core competency within our business. The Facilities Water Systems Engineer will plan facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. This role will support central utilities essential to our materials manufacturing process, focusing on ultra-pure water processes and industrial wastewater treatment systems.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience in facilities engineering with a proven track record in project management, semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Experience with HazOps; PHA's; FMEAs, and root cause analysis tools.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, water treatment technologies, controls systems and analytical equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with reverse osmosis, UV, ion-exchange, ozone injection, tank gas-blanketing, filtration, particle/TOC/TSS/TDS measurement, pump hydraulics, piping, valves and material selection.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) systems, wastewater treatment systems, storm water and environmental protection systems.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate systems to improve quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and baseline shifts using SPC and other methods to quickly resolve problems.
  • Work with operations and maintenance personnel, providing technical leadership for completion of work orders and process improvement projects.
  • Work with equipment vendors and service contractors to operate and commission new systems, leading FAT and SAT activities.
  • Prepare funding estimates, establish budgets, control costs and administer contracts as needed.
  • Develop design criteria, project scopes, schedules, and funding requests to successfully define and deliver projects which improve the quality and safety of facilities water systems.
