About The Position

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and functional operation of buildings and grounds. This role includes work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general upkeep. The technician will support daily operations, respond to maintenance requests, set up for events, and assist in facility improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV record
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Construction experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Familiarity with GMP standards
  • OSHA safety training or certification
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
  • Conduct repairs and improvements including painting, carpentry, and minor construction
  • Maintain exterior grounds
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and tools; ensure safety compliance
  • Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely manner
  • Assist with office setups, relocations, and furniture installations
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts as needed
  • Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Travel to secondary locations as required
