Facility Technicians are responsible to set up facilities (e.g., tables and chairs) for special events and/or programs as well as being a department representative for evening events and to keep the Island Grove buildings clean and well maintained before, during and after events. They are also responsible for regular cleaning and maintenance including scheduled deep cleaning, as well as performing some minor maintenance tasks consisting of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall and minor repairs to the facilities. The exact workdays and shift assignments have not yet been determined, so candidates must be available to work a day shift or an evening shift as well as some scheduled overtime, working as late as 12:00 a.m., occasionally. Days off will be mid-week and successful candidates must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday. Responsibilities primarily fall into two areas: custodial and setup/teardown.
