Facilities Technician FLSA STATUS Non-exempt QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent education (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.) EXPERIENCE Two years of general maintenance related experience Health care environment preferred SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles Ability to complete work within designated time frames Demonstrates ability to access information both in the department and within the hospital system to support the department Basic knowledge of trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating and cooling Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Performs assigned tasks efficiently and correctly through on-the-job training and educational opportunities Ability to follow detailed instructions to complete routine procedures and/or operate standard equipment
