About The Position

The Facilities Technician plays an important role in supporting our nonprofit agency's mission by helping create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. This hands-on position cares for a 48,000 sq. ft. facility in Springfield, Ohio through daily cleaning, room setup, basic maintenance, and monitoring of building systems.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Working knowledge of cleaning tools, materials, and basic maintenance equipment.
Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and detail.
Hands-on, dependable, and takes pride in serving others through their work.
Self-starter who can manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Observant and proactive in identifying safety, cleanliness, or maintenance needs.
Practical problem-solver with a service-minded, common-sense approach.
Team-oriented, respectful, and professional with staff, members, volunteers, and visitors.
Willingness to learn new systems, equipment, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility and grounds.
Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms, locker rooms, pool areas, kitchens, offices, and common areas.
Empty trash and recycling and maintain interior and exterior appearance.
Set up and tear down rooms for programs, events, and community gatherings.
Monitor building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, pool filtration) and report concerns.
Perform light maintenance and minor repairs (changing light bulbs, touch-up painting, filling dispensers).
Assist with basic landscaping and seasonal snow and ice removal.
Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and biohazard cleanups following safety protocols.
Complete work logs and communicate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission.
