About The Position

Performs maintenance service and general repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine service, electrical, tile work, grounds work, furniture repair, upholstery, welding, and/or vehicle servicing, and other work as required. Must present a positive image in the casino and the community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • WCR Gaming License is required.
  • Valid Iowa Driver’s License.
  • Minimal supervision; must be a self-starter.
  • Candidate given temporary ability to purchase needed items with a company credit card.
  • Special skills required: problem solving, analytical ability, communication skills, interpersonal skills; and dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities; repairs furniture, doors, windows, cabinet work, small appliances and equipment; replaces light bulbs, filters, dimmers, locks and other duties as assigned by shift supervisor; assists with furniture set-up and construction, office moves, carpet laying, other redesigns, and other work as needed.
  • Diagnoses and resolves minor facility or equipment problems without assistance; notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Maintains the integrity of facilities based on building codes and laws; operates within the safety rules and codes set by the company and has a working knowledge of recognized safety and environmental regulations.
  • Assures prompt, courteous service to all customers, internal and external; performs additional duties as needed.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and schematics and perform tasks utilizing both; must also be able to read equipment manuals.
  • Operates company vehicles to perform service for the company.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time; and must be able to walk long distances to parking area when required.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
