About The Position

This is a temporary, part-time (up to 20 hours per week) position, Monday-Friday, during normal business hours. Under general supervision of the Facilities Manager and in conformance with established policies and procedures, the Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance/upkeep and repairs of bank properties and equipment, and related functions.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of maintenance experience, preferable in a large commercial building environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience in at least one area of maintenance: plumbing, painting, carpentry, or electrical work.
  • A high school degree or GED is required.
  • Must possess current valid driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment. Basic computer skill with working knowledge or ability to learn various office software.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; talk or hear; stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms.   • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 1-2 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency.
  • Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work both indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level and outside in sometimes inclement weather.
  • Must be capable of up to 50% travel (e.g. 2 weeks or 10 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all internal and external customers, supporting the goals and mission of the bank.
  • On a regular rotating schedule, do a visual structural damage and security check for main bank. Report all problems to the Facilities Manager.
  • Perform safety check of boiler and air handler systems as scheduled by the Facilities Manager to make sure it is operating properly. Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure its proper operation and report problems to the Facilities Manager.
  • Stay up to date with maintenance computer programs including MaintainX, HVAC, Lighting, and Fire Suppression System programs.
  • Perform maintenance duties including, but not limited to plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical work. Order janitorial, kitchen, and maintenance supplies.
  • Clean sidewalks, parking lots, and grounds all year and in all types of weather conditions, including snow removal on main bank properties using a plow, shovel, or snow blower. Mow and trim grass, maintain the irrigation system, and complete other duties related to landscaping and lawn work.
  • Occasionally design and build structural bank equipment (i.e., carts, bulletin boards, etc.) Move and arrange desks, furniture, and partitions as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer’s personal and financial information.
  • Develop and improve skills through training programs and regular feedback discussions with supervisors which help further professional development. Participate in all training sessions and complete all assigned OnCourse training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.
