The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. Requirements

  • High school or trade school diploma; prefer license in specific specialty with a minimum of 0+ years of experience
  • Exposure to construction such as electrical, plumbing, woodwork, etc.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA requirements, and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures
  • Moderate knowledge of building maintenance
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain and/or repair equipment and/or systems within the facility within area of expertise
  • Follow maintenance schedule to ensure regular and preventive maintenance work assignments are completed as required
  • Perform service calls, repairs, and equipment installations as directed
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostic evaluations, and routine inspections on physical plant systems and equipment as required
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and tools, and keep assigned storage areas clean and organized
  • Follow company and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines in daily work routines and assignments
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Complete appropriate paperwork in a proper manner for the purchase, stocking, and/or use of all materials, parts, and components required for work order completion
  • Ensure work orders contain appropriate and accurate information before submitting completed work orders
  • May recommend cost savings strategies and techniques that will not compromise quality and individual safety
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Perform other related tasks or special duties as assigned
