About The Position

Seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Technician to join our Facilities Management team. The Facilities Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of our client's campus buildings and facilities. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Reliable transportation.
Must pass a drug screening and background check.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
Empty and clean trash receptacles and recycling bins.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure proper hygiene standards are maintained.
Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, and other glass surfaces.
Assist with floor care, including stripping, waxing, and buffing as needed.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities Supervisor promptly.
Use cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and university policies.
Set up and break down furniture and equipment for university events, meetings, and activities as needed.
Assist with special projects and seasonal tasks, such as snow and ice removal during winter months.
Maintain and organize custodial supply closets and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels and notify the Facilities Supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
