About The Position

Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Facilities Technician to join its world-class team. This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting technologies. The Facilities Team Lead works in conjunction with maintenance team members and is responsible for the repair of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems as well as manufacturing production support. This role will also address minor employee issues with the assistance of the Facilities Supervisor. Location: This position will be based in Newark, DE Role and Responsibilities The Facilities Technician will perform a variety of skilled duties such as analysis on planning, preventive maintenance and production equipment repair. Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on buildings requested by clients. Prioritizes daily activities and work order scheduling. Keeps management informed on progress and delays of all preventive maintenance work orders, related jobs, and other repair activities to help assist with efficient and adequate utilization of staff and resources. Ensures timely completion of properly authorized work orders in a cost effective manner. Responds to client questions on contracted maintenance activities and decisions in resolving problems in a professional and timely manner. Interacts courteously with the client staff, vendors and public; maintains effective working relationships with other staff; cooperates with and follows directions of Supervisor to effectively meet departmental and client objectives. Strong knowledge of skilled trades, such as HVAC, electrical or carpentry Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and parts Participates in safety training and meetings and uses safe working practices at all times. Responds to emergencies as requested and may coordinate after-hours work activities and repairs. Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety Codes. Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Preferred 3 + years equivalent of proven facilities experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work efficiently with cross functional team
  • Install and maintain highly technical mechanical equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations in a timely manner for an optimal production timeline that avoids lengthy periods without loss of business.
  • Complete periodic maintenance of equipment and machinery by following the recommended upkeep schedule throughout the life of the devices.
  • Troubleshoot common issues with equipment and assist operators with getting back to a productive mode.
  • Ability to multitask and have the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to understand and resolve facilities/Equipment repair issues independently
  • Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening)
  • Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversight
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships
  • Strong requirement to have knowledge of MS Office including Power Point, Excel, and Word
  • High school or equivalency diploma required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in facilities/maintenance management/building operations maintenance
  • Hands on knowledge in handling all technical aspects of building and facilities (air conditioning system, fire alarm system, and ticketing system among others)
  • In depth knowledge of systems, tools, and procedures for building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations pertaining to work place safety, occupational hazards, standard safety procedures and safety equipment including personal protective equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Plus if you have knowledge of Computerized Maintenance
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Prior experience as a Team Lead preferred
