About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to lead projects. This role is essential for ensuring the optimal functioning of our facilities through routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • HVAC certification strongly preferred.
  • 1 year of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the operation and adjustments of mechanical systems including refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems.
  • Helps monitor the operation of refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment, boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, and filters.
  • Analyze the operation of various systems and determine the cause of any problems or malfunctions.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on base building and critical system equipment, assembling all tools, supplies, and instruments necessary to complete the job.
  • Performs work with minimal disruption and conducts immediate clean-up of the work area.
  • Completes the preventative task sheet, returns tools to the workshop, and reports any impending supply or material shortages and equipment problems.
  • Able to install and repair plumbing, piping, tubing, wire singles, and three-phase motors.
  • Assist with running conduit, pulling wiring to machinery, motors, and operating parts.
  • Aids in installation and rebuilds of pumps and motors, air compressors, and heat exchangers.
  • Maintains building grounds and tenant suites, including tasks such as painting, changing light bulbs, replacing blinds, and trash removal.
  • Communicates with Property Manager and tenant's Facilities Director regarding the status of projects and ensures appropriate paperwork is completed.
  • Purchases appropriate supplies for projects upon approval.
  • Sets up and tears down for events and performs general custodial duties.
  • Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, texts, and emails as needed.
