About The Position

Starlink is the world's first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, video calls and more. Leveraging advanced satellites and user hardware coupled with our deep experience with both spacecraft and on-orbit operations, Starlink delivers high-speed, low-latency internet to users all over the world. The Facilities Technician position will provide maintenance, support, coordination, repair, and general facilities services to our Starlink facilities in Redmond and Woodinville. You will operate as a point of contact for general maintenance vendors and tradesmen across the campus while working in collaboration with the facilities management team and will oversee and execute on service requests, preventative maintenance, external vendor scheduling, and coordination of access to campus buildings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of facilities and/or maintenance experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction, project management, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvements
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trade
  • Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methodology
  • Familiar with industrial air fittings and maintenance
  • Able to read instructions and blueprints
  • Project management software, MS Excel, Word, or other project tracking software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, use of MS Outlook and Teams
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
  • Safety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes & hoists, fall protection equipment

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building maintenance tasks, including non-technical troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC/R, carpentry, and other facilities systems
  • Conduct repairs to facilities and premises as assigned, including painting, applying coatings and finishes to surfaces using various techniques and tools (e.g., rollers, sprayers, brushes), patching and repairing damaged surfaces (e.g., drywall, concrete, wood, walls), replacing ceiling tiles, assembling furniture, office/kitchen equipment, installing/replacing carpet, tiles, trim, molding, doors, hardware, windows, and cabinets/countertops
  • Perform finishing work such as leveling, shimming, and texturing for high-quality results
  • Perform inspections to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, and other structural elements
  • Coordinate and manage multi-trade projects, working with skilled partners, vendors, and construction teams while communicating project timelines, status, and requirements with production engineers, production management, and other stakeholders; assist in vendor coordination and advise on the selection, requisition, and transportation of building materials and supplies
  • Support campus-wide maintenance programs, asset management, and inventory
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, cranes, hoists, and other heavy equipment when needed; use hand and power tools such as sanders, drills, hammers, routers, and saws
  • Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX's custom work order system
  • Work with various materials (e.g., paints, coatings, concrete, framing, industrial gas fittings) and collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time, to standard, and in a fast-paced manufacturing/construction environment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and job sites; adhere to proper safety guidelines and protocols at all times, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), following procedures for handling materials/equipment, and applying fall protection and safety training
  • Assist in various day-to-day construction, engineering and facilities tasks
