Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others. Sr. Facilities Technician Position Summary: The Facilities Technician, Sr is a journeyman who monitors and maintains utilities and process equipment following standard procedures, requirements and safety policies. Follows well-defined instructions to maintain, troubleshoot and repair utilities and process equipment, while optimizing the utilization of Meggitt facilities.

Requirements

  • Cal Electrician's License and at least 5 years of commercial/industrial experience in the electrical trade.
  • Basic computer skills to maintain site reports, spreadsheets, preventative maintenance logs, and operate within a computerized maintenance work order system.
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial systems; electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and compressed gas
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to read and interpret documents, schematics and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of electromechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to recognize and solve typical problems from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
  • Experience in working within a team environment and able to adapt to changes in work requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Electrical Maintenance: 480-volts to 120-volts
  • PLC Maintenance
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor maintenance
  • Troubleshooting mechanical systems

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates assigned work projects, including materials and staff resources needed to perform the work; estimates time, materials, and equipment necessary for the successful completion of projects; acquires necessary resources as appropriate.
  • Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions, maintains existing electromechanical, and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Provides recommendations for contracted services; oversees the work of contracted services to ensure compliance with service agreement and work quality consistent with standards and expectations.
  • Conducts electrical systems conduit runs, including light and power circuits, motors, control equipment, light fixtures and panels.
  • Understands and follows safety procedures, maintenance instructions, manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics and assembly diagrams.
  • Ensures the safe usage and disposal of hazardous materials according to safety procedures and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
  • Follows all safety policy and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
  • May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
