This role as a Facilities Maintenance Tech is responsible for the daily operation, preventive maintenance, and repairs heavily focusing on, and including, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety and fire protection systems to ensure proper facility operations. The Facilities Maintenance Tech will maintain and operate equipment that supports a variety of operations – labs, clean rooms, office space, plant equipment, data centers, and warehouses. They will work closely with senior level Mechanics for guidance & prioritization. Operate central plant equipment/systems (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, air compressors, air handlers, pumps, etc.) Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air issues and take proper corrective action Prioritize competing demands – follow up on work completion with customer and management. Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure Properly document preventive and corrective work activity on a daily basis utilizing the computerized maintenance management system Utilize Building Automation System for proper equipment operation. Receive and review building automation alarms – take appropriate action Adhere to operational policies and procedures, meet all safety requirements Complete all preventive and corrective maintenance based on due/scheduled dates Coordinate sub-contracted maintenance activity, monitor sub-contracted work for completion and accuracy Perform routine lubrication, inspection, adjustments, cleaning, and replacement of consumable materials Communicate timely and effectively with all affected personnel on facility issues, work status, emergencies, etc. Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment Use hand and power tools Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications

  • High School Diploma/equivalent and 4+ years of Facilities/Maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing systems
  • EPA refrigeration "universal certification"
  • Limited experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Limited experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Limited experience with Fire/Life Safety Systems
  • Ability to be ‘on-call’ or cover off-shift assignments, as assigned
  • Ability to be available 24/7 as schedule dictates to respond to emergencies
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics
