Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI) is a mission-driven nonprofit serving children, youth, adults, and families across San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties. Our team works collaboratively with local county and community-based agencies to provide compassionate, trauma-informed services; including evidence-based mental health treatment, case management, housing and homelessness support, and family-based interventions across Child Welfare, Behavioral Health, and Juvenile Justice systems of care—as well as support for individuals and families experiencing complex challenges who fall outside of these social services. We're currently looking to add a Facilities Technician II to our team! The Facilities Technician II performs routine building maintenance and repair, moving furniture, setting up furniture and equipment, and various other maintenance activities. This position is also responsible for taking a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and workplace safety under Cal OSHA and Joint Commission standards. Location: In office at FCNI's San Luis Obispo Office

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in handy-person duties including working with various tools and machinery and the ability to complete basic construction type repairs.
  • A minimum of three (3) of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic construction, maintenance, and repairs to the various offices and apartments leased and owned by the organization. This includes painting, simple plumbing, electrical fixture replacement, appliance repair, light janitorial, and installation of various audio/video equipment.
  • Set-up office workstations, including assembling and/or moving furniture.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, storage inventory, repair and maintenance logs, and purchase orders.
  • Assist with all the moving needs of the organization and its clients. This includes donating furniture and goods, as well as client scheduled moves.
  • Assist with the special event organization, execution, and take down.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
