About the position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for providing multi-craft (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) support to the facilities and facilities support equipment including operating, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs needed to deliver world class results in the key areas of Quality, Safety, Customer Service, Cost and Teamwork. The ideal candidate will have experience in PLC's, ladder logic and chemical processing. A strong understanding of fire systems, alarm wiring, RTOs, chillers, Ro Water, ozone generation and destruction is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and communicating maintenance plans for facilities and equipment.
  • Lead maintenance repairs in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Monitor equipment uptime and response times, initiating improvement plans as needed.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, sanitation, waste reduction and recycling guidelines.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for ongoing facility and equipment improvements.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers and peers.
  • Analyze equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop center-lining for facilities equipment.
  • Provide multi-craft technical support for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Rebuild and fabricate necessary equipment parts and guards.

Requirements

  • HSD/GED required.
  • Technical knowledge of facilities/facilities support equipment i.e. boilers, air compressors, dryers, HVAC, pneumatic / hydraulic pumps, lighting, roofs, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of preventative maintenance techniques and have the ability to develop and work PM's to improve preventive maintenance programs from vendor manuals.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety procedures, OSHA regulations and application/facilitation of continuous improvement tools, TPM, 5S, FMEA, etc.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, or reliability maintenance background is desired.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends and mandatory overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrated competency in attention to detail, accuracy, work standards, initiative and managing work.
  • Must be proficient in English with strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with computers, software, and data processing.
  • Must be able to perform duties with minimal/no direct supervision.
