The position ensures the Goodwill Opportunity Campus and The Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center are well maintained by conducting various duties personally or through contractors. The role involves regular inspections, project management, and maintenance tasks to ensure the facilities are safe and operational.

  • Conducts weekly facilities checklist to review open work orders, needed repairs, and alleviate reoccurring issues.
  • Documents summaries and submits to the Facilities Support Specialist, Manager, Facilities Services, and Director, Facilities Services.
  • Creates work orders and implements corrective action for deficiencies noted in reports.
  • Ensures weekly testing and inspection of building fire pump and emergency generator, logging results in Life Safety Binder.
  • Conducts monthly inspection of emergency exit lights, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, ladders, and AED units.
  • Supports project management functions including assisting with contracts, schematics, project cost estimates, and creating presentations.
  • Secures quotes, schedules replacement, and manages scope for capital improvement projects.
  • Conducts daily building surveys of assets to report on the conditions of building systems.
  • Schedules and closes work order tickets using CMMS systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on air conditioning units, including replacing filters and cleaning coils.
  • Replaces or repairs plumbing fixtures and cleans or unclogs drain lines.
  • Performs light construction work including building shelves and repairing doors.
  • Opens and closes the building in accordance with operational hours.
  • Installs or replaces ballasts, light fixtures, light switches, and electrical outlets.
  • Inspects interior and exterior systems to ensure operations and repairs.
  • Disarms and resets fire sprinkler and fire-life safety systems and contacts the Fire Department in emergencies.
  • Performs light painting.
  • Sets up conference areas and meeting rooms as requested.
  • Conducts and records safety drills in supervisor’s absence.
  • Works with management to conduct building surveys and inspections.
  • Informs management about needed equipment and provides research and competitive pricing on tools and supplies.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience providing maintenance work.
  • Applicable certification(s) for HVAC systems.
  • Ability to make temperature adjustments and troubleshoot problems.
  • Working knowledge of lighting and electrical components.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing and ability to make basic repairs.
  • One year experience managing vendors for facility-related services and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to use a Work Order Management System and Maintenance Database Administration.
