About The Position

Texas Motor Speedway is a key location in the Speedway Motorsports nationwide network of entertainment venues. Speedway Motorsports maintains a consistent focus on four core principles: Take care of teammates Be known for remarkable events Positively impact our community Profitably improve Position Responsibility: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot/repair facility electrical systems. Provide electrical setup, monitoring, and teardown for race weekends and corporate events. Conduct routine inspections of electrical infrastructure—including backup generators, chillers, concession equipment, track lighting, and emergency systems—to ensure reliability and compliance. Install temporary power distribution for vendors, TV and radio broadcast partners, race teams, hospitality clients, and special event areas. Manage ongoing improvements to facility electrical systems, such as LED lighting upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives, and new construction projects. Assist with technology installations, timing and scoring systems, public address systems, and facility IT needs. Support Building Supervisors in the Speedway Club and Lone Star Tower buildings with various projects throughout the year. Other duties assigned by the Director of Operations & Vice President of Operations.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas Journeyman (or Master) Electrician License.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or venue high voltage electrical work.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC codes, electrical safety standards, and complex commercial power systems.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, around loud environments, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills for work order systems and email communication.
  • Strong communication/problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Positive attitude and creative problem solver who enjoys multi-tasking.
  • Familiarity with lighting control systems, LED sports lighting, and building automation.
