About The Position

As a Maintenance Technician 2 at Nordstrom's Gainesville Distribution Center, you will be responsible for executing a preventative maintenance program and troubleshooting repairs of building and material handling systems. This role supports the Operations team by designing maintenance solutions for complex problems and projects, while also developing plans to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, & building maintenance
• Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment
• Advanced knowledge of power tools, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of controls systems & PLC's (preferred)
• Robotics knowledge (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all aspects of material handling systems & conveyors
• Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment
• Maintain and troubleshoot basic relay logic and control components
• Safely operate equipment such as forklifts and hand tools
• Lead preventative maintenance procedures
• Assist in leading training plans for service technicians
• Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours and parts used
• Maintain a positive working relationship across all departments
• Move up to 49lbs and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
